Welcome to my portfolio site! On this site you will find a collection of my work, in addition to a blog and any tutorials that I create. Below you will find a little bit of info about me and what I do. Thanks for visiting!
I am a 3D character artist and animator from the greater Boston area. I am passionate about creating compelling 3D characters and bringing them to life through rigging and animation. I have a love for creature/digital sculpting (in Zbrush). I am a big fan of Stan Winston, Rick Baker and Ray Harryhausen.
I moved from the Netherlands to the United States in 2006 to be with the love of my life, Stancie (we've been together for 17 years!) and pursue a career in 3D animation. During my college career (at the New England Institute of Art) I fell in love with the character creation process in addition to animating (both in 2D and 3D). After graduating in 2010, I've done a variety of 3D-oriented work ranging from medical animation/visualization to the creation of game art/assets/characters. I like stepping out of my comfort zone to explore new forms of media.
In 2012 I became an instructor at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, where I currently teach several game art-oriented courses as part of their Interactive Media and Game Development (IMGD) program. It is a really great experience to be able to work with students and to see their artistic skills develop over the duration of a term. At WPI I teach the following courses:
- 3D Modeling I
- 3D Modeling II
- 2D Animation I
- 3D Animation I
- Character Rigging and Technical Animation
- Artistic Game Development II
